The Midas Touch Towers Difference
See below how you can beat the challenge & make a profit when you Build Green.
Electricity
The development of 7+ star rating homes is a priority for us at Midas Touch Towers. The homes we build for our clients are designed and certified to have a limited to zero effect on the environment, are very low maintenance, and are built to be as self-sufficient as possible.
The International Energy Agency recommends advanced economies to have a “zero-carbon-ready building code” in place by the end of the 2020s. This would ensure all new buildings in the 2030s will be zero or near-zero carbon.
Benefits for households and the planet.
A 7+ star rating home will use an average of 24.5% less energy. Plus, the simple act of energy conservation will assist in preventing climate change and help our innovative team to overcome the challenges of acheiving a green economy from the infrastructure we build and the products we develop and use.
Consumer modus operandi:
In recent years the average price for residential electricity has increased by 65% — and it continues to trend upward. The conventional household now uses more air conditioning, appliances, and consumer electronics than ever before and on average the monthly household electricity bill is $111.75 and annually $1,341.00. We believe that higher standards would reduce energy consumption to near zero, providing a buffer against energy price spikes and increases. Low or negative energy bills (as a result of payments for exporting electricity) will largely offset the initial cost of building better-performing homes. Plus, households will be less vulnerable to wider climate events. In closing, best-in-class energy efficiency, full electrification and renewable energy supply will be crucial to fully decarbonise the building sector.
Conventional Home VS 7+ Star Rating Home
Conventional Home
Water Cost & Usage
SUMMARY
In short, the average household of two uses around 138 gallons / 522 litres of water every single day. When you take into account all the different ways that water is used the average household can waste 180 gallons per week, or 9,400 gallons of water annually, from household leaks.
When you don’t take into account all the different ways that water is used in a conventional home, it can be difficult to realize how the average household can use so much water.
Final Thoughts
Today’s buildings are too inefficient and are incrementally passing into obsolescence and we recommend all property owners to Prioritize Green Building Attributes.

Water Efficiency & Water Conservation
So, what does water efficient technologies include? Here is a quick rundown:
Rain Water Harvesting
Grey Water Recycling
Pressure Reduction
Cooling Towers
Low-Flow Plumbing Fixtures
Our strategies and technologies involved in our projects aim at reducing the amount of potable water consumed in the building and involve a low cost of implementation and have a very quick payback.

Caution to all Property Owners
Non-compliant buildings will become subject to legal action and fines, making them more expensive to operate and insure. Such buildings may be more difficult to lease and sell or may face premature termination of leases if tenants seek to move to more energy-efficient buildings. Owners of non-green buildings may have to sell their property at a discount or pay for costly retrofits to meet new, stricter requirements or to be competitive in the market.
Insurance

A home’s value, location, and coverage amount all impact the price the owner pays, but the average conventional home insurance costs are estimated to be $1,715.
7+ Star Home
- Many people dont know that insurers are offering eco-friendly policies to eco-friendly homeowners. You might be able to get about a 5% discount on your home insurance premium, but this is subject to the star rating of your home. So, for homeowners who generate their own geothermal, solar or wind power and sell any surplus energy back to the local power grid, there are now policies that cover both the extra expense of temporarily buying electricity from another source and for the income lost during a power outage (as long as the outage is caused by a covered peril). Policies also generally cover the cost of getting back online, such as utility charges for inspection and reconnection.
Center For Sustainable Landscapes

Our mission is to design and develop resilient, climate-adapted landscapes via the implementation of sustainable design that demonstrates living in harmony with nature, emphasizing both energy- and water-efficiency principles. We are focused on designing sustainable landscapes for our clients that are net-positive for energy, meaning it creates more power than it consumes, and net-zero for water, meaning it captures and treats all of the rainwater that falls on the site. All of the non-potable water that the building uses comes from the site. Moreover, it treats all of its sanitary discharge.
How the system works
Rooftops collect and capture rainwater, which is then held in cisterns for human use and in lagoons and constructed wetlands for stormwater management. Pervious surfaces let water absorb into the earth. Subsurface sand filters help purify wastewater as does a solar distillation system and settlement tanks. No potable water is used for irrigation.
HOME MAINTENANCE
Conventional home maintenance costs range from $950 to $9,820. Major home repairs cost much more, plus if you live in an area with natural disasters, your average annual home maintenance would increase due to related repairs. Conventional homeowners need to budget 1% to 3% of their home’s value a year for home maintenance.
7+ Star Home
- Your home maintenance costs will drop dramatically as this is achieved due to the fact that 7+ Star Homes are built with eco-friendly as well as durable building materials which are environment resistant, requires less to zero maintenance and has a greater duration.
Home Mortgage
Conventional Home
The interest rates for home loans vary depending on the lender, but the average estimated monthly repayments for a conventional home is $3,290 or a newely built home is $3,098
7+ Star Rated Home
Particular lenders offer discounted interest rates, higher LVR and incentives to our clients who purchase or build 7+ star rated homes, including for any add-ons and or improving their homes in an environmentally friendly way.
Home Market Value Boost

Several research studies have shown that green homes capture an average of 8% — and up to a whopping 30% — of added value over a conventionally built home of comparable size and location. In the current market, then, they are selling at a premium. Such results stands to reason that high-performance homes will gain further value in years to come.
Plus, every improvement that improves your home’s energy efficiency raises the eventual selling price. Furthermore, private properties with green certificates sell for a higher price than comparable homes in the region. Energy efficiency is a desirable feature in any place since it promises lower utility costs and fewer repair expenditures. Also, recent industry studies suggest that green homes are selling much faster than their conventional counterparts since many buyers view sustainable features as must-haves.

Sustainable rentals are more appealing to tenants. Due to their lower operating costs and greater energy efficiency, sustainable homes are also often more appealing to tenants – meaning there is a greater likelihood achieving a higher rental yield.
- World Green Building Council’s Business Case for Green Building (2013) found that buildings with a green rating report an occupancy rate increase of up to 23%. The higher the rating, the higher the rental premium – with an average 3% increase in rent for each additional level of certification.
HEALTH CARE AND RETIREMENTS COSTS
On average only 75% of retirees own their own home, but for the remaining 25% the outlook is not so great and 52% of adults aged 60 and over believe that their retirement savings are on track. On average, those 65 and older spend $3,965 per month. A couple needs $280,000 just to cover health care and medical costs over the course of retirement. This doesn’t include the cost of senior living or nursing home care, if that becomes necessary.
7+ Star Rated Home
Now, last, but not least your health and retirement won’t be a burden to you anymore. Investing in a Green Home will assist you in living a healthier lifestyle which means much less money will be allocated towards health care expenses and you will go into a comfortable retirement with enough money to pay for occasional holidays including overseas trips, a good car, regular leisure and lifestyle activities, and many other discretionary items that form daily living.
